HumeLink is a new 500kV transmission line that will connect Wagga Wagga, Bannaby and Maragle in Southern New South Wales. It is one of Australia’s largest energy infrastructure projects, with about 360 km of proposed new transmission lines, and new or upgraded infrastructure across the three locations. HumeLink represents the next step in bringing more affordable, reliable, renewable energy to the grid as Transgrid delivers a next-generation transmission capability for NSW and the National Electricity Market.
“The project forms an integral part of the expanded Snowy Hydro Scheme and will enable sustainable and cleaner energy generation to enter the Australian energy market. It will also generate thousands of jobs associated with construction and supply chain to the project. fission is proud to be involved in a project that when complete will deliver wide-ranging social and economic benefits for New South Wales. We are excited to work with Transgrid and their project team to ensure the project achieves commercial and operational success,” said fission’s Operations Director, Jarrod McHugh.
